Therapy is a process of being honest with ones self in order to effect the change desired. The more actively engaged, like any other skill development, the more effective you become.
“Now my troubles are going to have troubles with me!” Dr. Seuss.
This means it takes time, patience and self compassion. Therapy is an active process of facing your thoughts, feelings and behaviors differently to effect change. Initiating the change process can be scary, intimidating, but also amazingly freeing. You do not have to do it alone.
“ You have brains in your head. You have feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself any direction you choose.” Dr. Seuss.
Everyone can benefit from engaging in counseling for anxiety, depression, substance abuse and/or to deal with a variety of life stresses to promote movement towards living a more effective and present life. Living vs. existing, engaging vs. avoiding, being vs. controlling.
“Step with care and great tact, and remember that life’s a great balancing act.” Dr. Seuss.
