what is therapy? Counseling?



Cognitive Behavioral Therapists is an active, participatory treatment (s).  Therapy is a process of being honest with ones self in order to effect the change desired.  In utilizing  research based interventions such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, it requires active  engagement,  skill development, and commitment to effective long term change.

A process


This means it takes time, patience  and self compassion.   Therapy is an active process of facing your thoughts, feelings and behaviors differently to effect change.  Initiating the change process can be scary, intimidating, but also amazingly freeing.  You do not have to do it alone.

Self Care


Everyone can benefit from engaging in counseling for anxiety, depression, substance abuse and/or to deal with a variety of life stresses to promote movement towards living a more effective and present life.  Living vs. existing, engaging vs. avoiding, being vs. controlling.
