When looking for a qualified and competent therapist to address your life stressors it can be anxiety provoking. It can be difficult to seek out counseling services and have little insight about the person you choose to confide in. So, I thought I would start by telling you more about me.
Above all things, I am a person, just like you. One who loves, cries, laughs, gets scared and needs support during difficult times. My personal and professional values are in line, which is why I chose to become a social worker. I believe it is important to see others for who they are, by trying to understand their experiences through their perspective…this, I believe, is fundamental to understanding someone’s human experience.
I truly believe everyone deserves respect, dignity, justice, compassion and the joy of being human, quirks and all. I also believe it is important to help others see that life can be painful, but it doesn’t have to be agonizing. Together, as a team, we build upon your foundation, utilizing your strengths, skills, and supports to build the life you want for you and your family. We do this together, as no house….home… is built alone. Counseling requires committeemen and use of skills outside of sessions.
PS. I grew up in Boston (yes I talk funny) and am a fan of the Red Sox. I love to have fun and learn from life experiences even when stormy, it’s about the journey. Oh, and I love Dr. Suess…..my office fish is named after him.
